beep™ CONDITIONS OF USE

This beep™ Conditions of Use document is a contract between you (a beep™ Cardholder) and us (AF Payments Inc. or “AFPI”) effective upon your purchase and/or receipt of a beep™ Card.

We are the issuer of your beep™ Application, which can reside on Standard, Co-Branded Advertising, Limited Edition, Co-Branded Multifunction, beep™-enabled ID, or Concessionary beep™ cards or other authorized form factors, such as mobile phone application, key fob, watch, etc.

Terms used in this document are defined as follows:

    • “Automatic Fare Collection System” is the system being offered by AFPI to operators of all kinds of public transport vehicles that issue tickets and support multiple methods of fare collection, from contactless stored value card to cash payment for paper-based or single journey tickets, and consists of Level 0 (fare media and tickets), Level 1 (acceptance and loading systems), Levels 2 and 3 (data consolidation systems), and Level 4 Infrastructures (clearing and settlement system).
    • “beep™” is the brand name of the beep™ Application and is identified by the beep™ Logo.
    • “beep™ Application” means the stored value payment application owned and developed by us (AFPI) that allows consumers to make payments at Transport Establishments and other beep™-affiliated Merchants using beep™ Cards. We are the issuer of and shall be responsible for the beep™ Application. Also referred to as “beep™ Functionality”.
    • “beep™ Card” means a contactless smart card or any other form factor that contains the beep™ Application and may be issued as a Standard, Co-Branded Advertising, Limited Edition, Co-Branded Multifunction Card or beep™-enabled ID Card.
        • “Standard beep™ Card” is a smart card or other form factor that contains only the beep™ Application. It is issued by us and distributed through our authorized Distributors.
        • “Co-Branded Advertising beep™ Card” is similar to a Standard beep™ Card but also features the logo of a Co-Brander for advertising purposes.
        • “Limited Edition or Special Edition beep™ Card” is similar to a Standard beep™ Card produced in limited quantities and sold within a specific time period.
        • “Co-Branded Multifunction beep™ Card” is a smart card or other form factor that contains the beep™ Application and one or more other applications for payment and/or non-payment products which are owned by and for which the Co-Brander of the Multifunction beep™ Card shall be responsible.
        • “beep™-enabled ID Card” refer to custom-designed beep™ card that also functions as identification (ID) card, access card, membership card, and/or personalized card with the beep™ Application or beep™ functionality issued by us to any officer, employee, member, associate, affiliate and/or any other person authorized to bear such ID by any organization, association, agency, entity, group, community, institution, etc., that has arranged with us to issue the same.
    • “beep™ Card Distributor” or “Distributor” refers to any entity or establishment
      authorized by us to sell beep™ cards directly and/or through its authorized agents and/or sales platforms (e.g., physical sales outlets and/or online sales platforms)
    • “beep™ Functionality” is another term for and used interchangeably with the “beep™ Application” in the context of this beep™ Conditions of Use.
    • beep™ Logo” means the following trademark or  logo or variations thereof which we may hereafter adopt.
    • “beep Mobile Application”, otherwise known as “beep App” or “beep mobile app”, is a mobile phone-based application designed by us as a handy, user-friendly companion for beep cardholders to check their card balance, load their beep card, monitor transactions, buy Quick Response (QR) tickets for select public transport, while earning points for rewards. It also allows users to pay for merchandise in select retail outlets and funds transfer through its e-wallet platform.
    • “beep Merchant” means a merchant, retailer, establishment, or Transport Establishment authorized by us to accept beep Card as a form of payment for goods, services, or fares.
    • “Card Account Number”, also known as CAN, is a unique 16-digit number assigned to every issued beep card, regardless of type. The CAN is typically printed on the back of every beep card (unless otherwise advised).
    • “Co-Brander” or “Co-Branding Partner” means an entity or establishment with which we have a contract or arrangement for the issuance of a Co-Branded Advertising beep Card or a Co-Branded Multifunction beep Card.
    • “Concessionary beep Card” means a beep Card that has been registered for use by a Concessionary Person and grants the holder thereof discounted fares in Rail Transport Establishments, which are issued by us or Transport Establishments exclusively through the rail stations.
    • “Concessionary Card Counter” refers to a physical setup within Transport Establishment premises or any such area(s) designated by us where eligible applicants are issued their concessionary beep cards after going through a verification and registration process.
    • “Concessionary Card Processor” refers to a person assigned to a Concessionary Card Counter who accepts, processes, and issues concessionary beep cards to qualified applicants within the Transport Establishment premises, or any such area(s) designated by us.
    • “Concessionary Person” means a person who is eligible under Philippine law to avail of discounted fares in Transport Establishments (such as Senior Citizens, Students, or Persons with Disabilities or PWDs).
    • “Defective beep card” means a non-working or non-functioning beep card resulting from a manufacturing- or card-based defect, and not related to any improper handling by the beep cardholder.
    • “Damaged beep card” means a non-working or non-functioning beep card due to its normal wear and tear during usage or due to the improper handling by the cardholder or anyone in possession of such a card.
    • “Load Value/Load Amount” means the Peso value or amount equivalently loaded onto the beep Application.
    • “Load Fetching” refers to the process of syncing a previously purchased load balance onto your beep card through our beep partner merchants or partner establishments, through the use of the beep mobile application, or e-Loading kiosks.
    • “Partner Establishment” is an establishment assigned or authorized by us to accept and applications for, distribute, and/or sell beep enabled Cards and conduct the necessary Know Your Customer (KYC) verification and registration of such beep Cards.
    • “Stored Value” means, at any given time, the monetary value stored in your beep Card.
    • “Top-up” is the action of adding to or increasing the load value, load amount or load balance on the beep Application. Also referred to as “Card Loading”.
    • “Transpo Logo” refers to the following trademark or logo or variations thereof which the Department of Transportation (“DOTr”), as the owner of such a logo, and/or its authorized agents or representatives may hereafter adopt.
    • “Transport Establishment” is a transport service or establishment required or allowed by the DOTr to use the automatic fare collection system. Currently, these Transport Establishments are Light Rail Transit 1 (LRT 1), Light Rail Transit 2 (LRT 2) and Metro Rail Transit 3 (MRT 3). Transport Establishments are identified by and display the TranspoTM Logo.
  1.  ABOUT beep

    1. These Conditions of Use cover the use of the beep Application and the beep Cards.
    2. For Co-Branded Multifunction beep Cards, functionalities/applications other than the beep Application are governed by the Conditions of Use issued by the relevant Co-Brander of the Multifunction beep Card. We will not be responsible for such other functionalities/applications.
    3. Each beep Card bears the beep Logo and Transpo Logo.
    4. Unless otherwise indicated, each beep Card, upon purchase and issuance, is unregistered. However, if you are a Concessionary Person you may register your beep Card as a Concessionary beep Card in accordance with Section 3 hereof.
    5. For Co-Branded Advertising and Co-Branded Multifunction cards, you may follow the registration process of the Co-Brander, if applicable. If the card is registered with the Co-Brander, the provisions of the Co-Brander pertaining to registered beep Cards shall apply.
    6. Pricing information, changes or updates to the current version of the Conditions of Use, and other relevant information on the beep Application or beep Cards are available in our web site: https://www.beep.com.ph
    7. Specific policies and guidelines on the use and handling of beep-enabled ID cards are governed by the party, entity, etc. who arranged with us for the issuance and use of such cards.
  2. DISTRIBUTION AND PURCHASE OF beep

    1. Purchase of Standard beep Cards
      1. Standard beep Cards can be purchased from stations managed by Transport Establishments, and other ticketing booths and/or terminals and may require a minimum initial load value prior to use.Sale of standard beep cards within the Transport Establishment premises is limited to one (1) card per passenger at a time and is not intended for resale. Hoarding, profiteering or unauthorized reselling of beep cards, including and especially those sold at the Transport Establishments, are deemed illegal under Republic Act (RA) 7394 (otherwise known as the Consumer Act of the Philippines), RA 7581 (otherwise known as The Price Act), RA 11967 (otherwise known as Internet Transactions Act) and/or other pertinent or applicable Philippine laws.
      2. Standard beep Cards may also be purchased from authorized beep Card Distributors at a purchase price set by the distributor. No minimum load amount is required in this case.
      3. Sale or transfer of concessionary beep cards to person(s) other than the registered concessionary beep cardholder is not allowed.
    2. Co-branded – Advertising, Special Edition, Limited Edition and Multi-function beep Cards
      1. Co-Branded Advertising beep Cards, Special Edition beep Cards, Limited Edition beep Cards and Co-Branded Multifunction beep Cards can be purchased from the Co-Brander (or any of its designated outlets) or from Partner Establishments. The price may or may not be the same as the Standard beep Card price.
      2. Unless otherwise advised by the co-branding partner and/or its authorized representatives, distributors, resellers and/or agents, there is no restriction on the distribution modalities, pricing, and/or sale of co-branded, advertising, special edition, limited edition and/or multi-function beep cards on any of its platforms.
    3. beep-enabled IDs
      1. beep-enabled IDs are availed, distributed, sold (if purchase is involved or required) and released at the discretion of the organization, association, entity, institution, agency, etc. that contracted with us for the issuance of such IDs.
  3. APPLICATION AND REGISTRATION OF CONCESSIONARY beep CARDS

    1. Concessionary beep Cards are available for purchase only by qualified and eligible Concessionary Persons as defined by Philippine laws. You may apply for and be issued right away a Concessionary beep Card at any Concessionary Card Counter located at the Transport Establishment premises, subject to a registration and verification process facilitated by a Concessionary Card Processor.
    2. If the Concessionary beep Cards are lost, stolen, or expired, the Concessionary cardholder can apply for a replacement through any Transport Establishment. The Concessionary beep Card shall be made available to you within seven (7) calendar days from our receipt of your duly accomplished application form from the Transport Establishment that received your application.
    3. To apply for and register a Concessionary beep Card (for Senior Citizens, PWDs or Students) at the Concessionary Card Counter within the Transport Establishment premises, you will be required to disclose certain personal information including, but not limited to, your name, date of birth, contact details, and proof of eligibility for the Concessionary beep Card (e.g., Senior Citizen or OSCA ID or PWD ID issued by the Local Government Unit (LGU), School/Student ID or Proof of Enrolment or Registration for the current school year), that is in compliance with the Republic Act 10173 or the Data Privacy Act of 2012.
    4. Only the registered Concessionary Person may use the Concessionary beep Card. Your Concessionary beep Card is not transferable to any other person or user. Each Concessionary Person may own only one (1) Concessionary beep Card at a time.
    5. Concessionary beep Cards issued to eligible Students bear a discount product that is valid for use within one (1) year from the date of issuance of the card. The discount product on the concessionary beep card is renewable every year as long as the card is valid for use. For reference, the validity period is printed on the back of the beep card.
  4. USE OF beep

    1. You can top-up (or load) and use your beep Card at any of the Transport Establishments and other beep Merchants that display the beep Logo and/or Transpo Logo. In case a beep Merchant displays the beep Logo and/or Transpo Logo but, for any reason, does not accept your beep Card, you may report thru our customer service number: (02) 8737- 9600 or by contacting us via e-mail: customer.info@afpayments.com or other contact details posted on our web site: https://beep.com.ph/ .
    2. Your beep Card may be rejected in any of the following circumstances:
      1. It has expired, has been suspended, or blocked (e.g., your beep Card has been reported to us as lost or stolen);
      2. The remaining balance on the beep Application purse is insufficient to cover the price of fare, chargeable fee (e.g., service or convenience fees), or item(s) to be purchased;
      3. It has been reasonably suspected to be a counterfeit, illegally or fraudulently obtained, or suspected to have been stolen, misused, or tampered;
      4. It has been physically damaged and/or is malfunctioning (e.g., cannot be read by a beep acceptance terminal); or
      5. It has been altered, modified or whose form factor has been changed without our prior authorization.
    3. We shall not be responsible for the condition, quality, or performance of the goods or services purchased using your beep Card. All concerns or complaints relating thereto shall be addressed to the relevant beep Merchant or Partner Establishment.
  5. STORED VALUE BALANCE AND TOP-UP

    1. Your beep Application purse may have a minimum balance of zero pesos (₱0.00) and a maximum balance of ten thousand pesos (₱10,000).
    2. You may top-up or load your beep Card at any authorized top-up provider that displays the beep Logo, including any Transport or Partner Establishment authorized by us. AFPI or its authorized load providers may provide additional load facilities and may charge a convenience fee for using their respective channels and/or platforms.
    3. If you are topping up at a station of a Transport Establishment, there may be a minimum load determined by the Transport Establishment.

      The maximum top-up amount is equivalent to the maximum balance, which is currently at ten thousand pesos (₱10,000).
    4. You can also load or top-up your beep card through the use of the beep mobile application, the features, functionalities, and mechanics of which are published on the beep website: https://www.beep.com.ph
  6. RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE beep CARDHOLDER

    1. You must take proper care of your beep Card to avoid any physical damage (including but not limited to burns, scratches, notches, tears, breaks, cuts, bends, drills, holes, and/or punctures) and must not intentionally alter, deface, damage, or destroy the same. You must not print, attach or place any marking or foreign material (e.g., stickers, skins, etc.) onto any part of the beep Card.
    2. You must not copy, duplicate, modify, and/or alter the beep Application or the beep Card including its firmware, software, program, and/or data recorded in the electronic chip.
    3. You must not remove, embed, or incorporate any element or component on the beep card or alter its physical form.
    4. You must cooperate with authorities during any investigation of possible crime, suspicious transactions, misrepresentations, fraudulent acts, and/or anomalies involving your beep Card or the use thereof.
    5. You must be responsible for safeguarding your own beep Card against theft, damage, or loss. If you lose your beep Card, the balance will not be replaced (unless your beep Card is registered with us).
    6. Unless otherwise advised by us, the beep Card is issued in the form of a contactless, physical smart card and as of this writing is not authorized to be produced, used and/or released in any shape or form (e.g., as a key chain, wearable item, accessory or charm, etc.). We do not guarantee the functionality of form factors other than those authorized by us.
  7. DEFECTIVE OR DAMAGED beep CARD

    1. In case your beep Card is malfunctioning due to a manufacturing defect, you may request it to be replaced with a new beep Card, provided the card was proven defective by manufacturer, and subject to the following:
      1. A defective Standard beep Card must be surrendered to any Transport Establishment. The replacement beep Card shall be made available for pick-up seven (7) calendar days after your surrender of the defective Standard beep Card. The Transport Establishment shall allow claiming of the replacement beep Card for a period of ninety (90) calendar days (after the lapse of the seven (7)-calendar day period). Should AFPI fail to issue and deliver to the Transport Establishment a replacement beep Card [within] the seven (7)-calendar day period, the Transport Establishment is authorized to automatically issue on behalf of AFPI a replacement beep Card with the load amount as of the date of claiming.
      2. A defective Co-Branded Advertising beep Card or Limited-Edition beep Card should be returned to us. The replacement beep Card shall be made available for pick-up from us after fifteen (15) working days from your surrender of the defective Co-Branded Advertising beep Card. In case the specific type of beep Card being replaced is not available, a Standard Anonymous beepTM Card shall be provided with equal value of the card issuance fee of the Advertising beep or Limited-Edition Card loaded onto the replacement card.
      3. A defective Co-Branded Multifunction beep Card should be returned to the Co- Brander of Multifunction beep Card and the replacement thereof will be governed by the latter’s damaged card replacement process. Pick-up of the replacement card shall be through the co-branding partner.
      4. Any replacement card will contain the remaining balance from the defective card.
      5. In case the Co-Brander refuses to replace your defective Co-Branded Multifunction beep Card, you may proceed to our office address at Ground Floor, Welfare Building, LRTA Compound, Aurora Boulevard, Barangay 190, 1300 Pasay City, Philippines, to request for a replacement of the defective Co-Branded Multifunction beep Card with a new Standard beep Card subject to your surrender to us of such defective Co-Branded Multifunction beep Card. The Standard beep Card shall be made available to you within fifteen (15) working days from our receipt of your request.
      6. In case you do not receive your replacement beep Card within the delivery period specified, please contact AFPI customer service hotline number (02) 8737-9600 and/or by sending email to customer.info@afpayments.com to know the status of the availability and delivery. AFPI customer service is available Mondays to Sundays from 5AM to 11PM, requests beyond the operating hours shall be handled on the next operating hours.
    2. In case your beep Card is not functioning due to misuse, you may purchase a replacement beep Card. Should you wish to transfer any remaining balance from your damaged or destroyed beepCard to your replacement beep Card, we will charge you a fee as balance transfer fee on top of the card issuance fee. Refer to Section 10 (Schedule of Fees).
  8. LOST OR STOLEN beep CARD

    1. Please note that this Section applies only to Concessionary beep Cards. As a general requirement, the replacement of your lost or stolen Concessionary beep Cards shall require the presentation of a valid proof of identity and compliance with the requirements under this Section.
    2. You may proceed to any Transport Establishment to report your lost or stolen Concessionary beep Card and request for the card to be blacklisted or blocked for further use. Please remember to bring with you a valid government-issued ID in order for us to adequately establish and verify your identity. We reserve the right to decline any request for blacklisting of a Concessionary beep card f the identity of the cardholder cannot be adequately established.
    3. We will blacklist your Concessionary beep Card within twelve (12) hours from the time the Transport Establishment or Partner Establishment receives your request for blacklisting if you are able to make such request before 4:00 PM or within thirty-six (36) hours if your request is made after 4:00 PM. Once blocked, your Stored Value is protected and guaranteed. AFPI will reimburse you within seven (7) calendar days should there be any unauthorized transactions on your card after the twelve (12) or thirty-six (36) hour period, as applicable. Should you wish to transfer any remaining balance from your lost Concessionary beep Card to your replacement beep Card, a fee will be applied. Refer to Section 10 (Schedule of Fees).
    4. In case you lose your registered Co-Branded Multifunction beep Card, you should contact the relevant Co-Brander of the Multifunction beep Card to block your card. You should refer to the Conditions of Use issued by the Co-Brander of the Multifunction beep Card for rules and policies on lost or stolen cards. AF Payments Inc. will block your beep Application on the Co-Branded Multifunction beep Card only upon the official advise from the Co- Brander. Once blocked, your Stored Value is protected and guaranteed.
    5. In case the Co-Brander refuses to replace your lost or stolen card, you may proceed to our office address at Ground Floor, Welfare Building, LRTA Compound, Aurora Boulevard, Barangay 190, 1300 Pasay City, Philippines, to request a replacement of your lost or stolen card with a new Standard beep Card. The Standard beep Card shall be made available to you within seven (7) days from our receipt of your request. AF Payments Inc. reserves the right to charge you the card purchase fee and a fee for the balance transfer.
    6. If you find any beep Card, you should return it to our offices at Makati City P.O. Box 3202.
  9. VALIDITY OF beep CARD

    1. Standard beep Card and Concessionary beep Card,
      1. The Standard beep Card, Concessionary beep Card has an expiration date of four (4) years from the time it was produced (as printed on the back of the beep card) or fifty thousand (50,000) transactions, whichever comes first.
    2. Co-branded – Advertising, Special Edition, Limited Edition and Multifunction beep Cards
      1. Co-Branded beep Cards may have a different expiration date other than four (4) years. The validity of such a card shall be defined and printed on the card itself. The beep Application will be guaranteed to function up until the declared expiry date (as printed on the back of the beep card) or fifty thousand (50,000) transactions, whichever comes first.
    3. Student Concessionary beep Card
      1. The discount Product on the Student Concessionary beep Card expires one (1) year after the issuance of the card. If the card bearing the student discount product is blacklisted, the student must apply for a replacement Student Concessionary beep card with the Transport Establishment. The decision whether to apply a student discount to any fare is upon the discretion of the transport authorities and is by default determined by the presence and validity of the Student Discount Product on the card. The physical design, markings or physical appearance of the card do not automatically entitle the cardholder to a student discount without the presence of a valid student discount product on the card. While the discount product on the Student Concessionary beep card may have expired, the student cardholder may still use the card up to its validity or expiry date, with or without the discount product.
    4. An expired beep Application or beepCard may no longer be used.
      1. We allow balance transfer of your remaining balance to a replacement beep Application or beep Card, up to one (1) year after your beep Application or beep Card has expired. A balance transfer fee will be charged for this service. Refer to Section 10 (Schedule of Fees).
      2. The validity date of any beep card may be extended by one (1) year (or twelve (12) consecutive months from the original expiration date as printed on the beep card) upon successful transaction in a beep expiry date extension device. AFPI reserves the right to charge a minimal fee for extending the expiry date of the card and to change the parameters for card expiry extension, as the situation warrants. Refer to Section 10 (Schedule of Fees).
      3. Extending the validity of a beep card by another year will require the cardholder to physically transact with a beep expiry date extension device within six (6) months before the expiry date indicated on the beep card. The expiry date may be expressed as an exact date or set on the end of the month of expiration (e.g. “valid until the end of July 2026”).
  10. SCHEDULE OF FEES

    We shall charge the following fees for specific card-related services rendered, to wit:

  11. beep CARD LOAD REFUND POLICY

    1. As a general principle, under no circumstances shall a refund be made or paid out in cash to the requesting party. All approved refunds will be processed and remitted to the requesting party by reloading the validated amount into a designated beep card.
    2. Refunds are only permitted for load transactions that are still pending, i.e., load amounts that (i) have not yet been fetched by the cardholder; or (ii) load transactions that are unsuccessful. Transactions that have already been confirmed or credited to the beep card or any remaining balance on the card prior to any refund request are not eligible for a refund.
    3. AFPI values transparency and fairness in handling beep card transactions. This refund Policy outlines the circumstances under which cardholders may request a refund for beep transactions. AFPI will process refunds only in cases that are deemed valid, subject to verification and compliance with the requirements, which are detailed in the succeeding sections.
    4. Request for refunds will be accommodated under any of the following conditions:
      1. Lost Card – The card has been lost, and there is a pending load that cannot be fetched.
      2. Expired Card – The card has met its expiration date and load attempt has failed.
      3. Failure to Load – The load attempt was unsuccessful and no records of the transaction appears on AFPI’s reports.
      4. Incorrect Deduction – An excessive fare was determined to be erroneously charged or deducted from the card.
      5. Defective Card – The card cannot be used properly due to manufacturing defect.
      6. beep Rewards – Requesting a refund for a load redeemed through the beepTM rewards program.
    5. Refunds will not be granted on any of the following cases:
      1. Unaware of Load Fetching – Customer is unaware that the load should be fetched for it to be credited to the card. It is posted on the beep website and other information dissemination channels that a load must be fetched for it to be credited on the beep card.
      2. Error in Load Fetching – Should there be any error encountered when fetching on any Stored Value Updater (SVU) device, a customer may try to fetch their load on other fetching tools. SVU devices are installed within Transport Establishment premises. Alternatively, a customer can also use any NFC-enabled phone to fetch their load.
      3. Customer-initiated Non-Usage of Card – Customer requesting for a refund because they no longer intend to use their card for any reason.
      4. Expired Load – The load was not fetched within the allowed period and has expired. beep card users are given one hundred eighty (180) calendar days to fetch their pending load before it expires.
      5. Incorrect Card Account Number (CAN) Entry – The load was applied to an incorrect CAN.
    6. To facilitate a refund request, the following information will be asked from the requesting party:
      1. Full Name;
      2. Contact Details (Mobile or Landline Number);
      3. 16-digit Card Account Number (CAN);
      4. Reference Number;
      5. Refund Amount; and
      6. Date and Time of Transaction;Requests for refund submitted without the reference number issued by us (AFPI), the issuer of the beep card, will be considered incomplete and will neither be processed nor refunded.
    7. We shall exercise due diligence to confirm and validate that the transaction is existing, true, and aligned with the reason for refund request. Transactions will be validated with the use of our settlement protocols and using beep loading reports as reference.
    8. Upon validation that the refund request is true and valid, any pending load must first be deleted prior to the initiation of the refund process.
    9. We will then top-up the load to a replacement beep card. The load shall then be fetched by you (the customer).
    10. We shall apply the following principles for handling of exceptions and special conditions for processing refunds such as:
      1. In case of Lost beep Cards, the customer must obtain a replacement beep Card for the initiation of the load refund. For lost or stolen concessionary beep cards, customer shall request for the blacklisting of the said card following the beep Card Conditions of Use.
      2. In case of Expired beep Cards, the customer must obtain a replacement beep Card for the initiation of the load refund process.
      3. In case of Defective beep cards: Replacement of defective beep cards will follow the process stated on the beepCondition of Use (refer to Section 7 – Defective or Damaged beep Card). Once the card has been replaced, AFPI will reload the new card with the refund amount.
    11. All valid refund requests will be processed through a card reload transaction. Any refund requests outside the defined conditions stated herein must be escalated to us and thereafter handled on a case-by-case basis. Exceptions may only be granted with written approval from AFPI, after the latter has conducted an appropriate assessment.

  12. LIMITATIONS ON LIABILITY

    1. We shall not be held liable for any misrepresentation, fraud, fault, or misconduct committed by any third party, such as but not limited to owners, employees, authorized representatives, and/or agents of Merchants, Transport Establishments, Partner Establishments, and/or beep top-up providers and Distributors.
    2. We shall not be held liable for non-performance, error, interruption, or delay in the performance of our obligations under this Conditions of Use for causes not attributable to our fault or negligence, including but not limited to:
      1. Floods, lightning, acts of God, fires, earthquakes, and other natural disasters;
      2. Judgments, legislation, acts, orders, directives, policies, restrictions, regulations, prohibitions, or measures of any kind on the part of any court, governmental, legislative, and/or regulatory authority imposed or to be imposed after the fact;
      3. Rally, protest, riot, terrorist activity, revolution, treason, coup d’etat, or similar acts;
      4. Power failure;
      5. Acts or defaults of any telecommunications network operator;
      6. Circumstances where communication lines and/or computer systems, and/or the beep Merchants, beep top-up providers and Distributors cannot be used for reasons attributable to third party telecommunications carriers; and/or
      7. Acts or omissions of persons, entities, or establishments for whom we are not responsible.

    2. For reference and to facilitate any inquiry regarding your card, we recommend that you take note of the 16-digit Card Account Number (CAN) printed on your beep card.
  14. NEW SERVICES AND AMENDMENTS

    1. We reserve the right to provide or offer new features, designs, functions, and/or services for any type of beep Card.
    2. We reserve the right to amend or change this Conditions of Use after due notice to holders of beep Cards by publication. Changes in these Conditions of Use shall be subject to concurrence and approval of the Scheme Provider (as of this writing, the Department of Transportation or DOTr) or its duly authorized representative. The amendment or change shall take effect not earlier than thirty (30) calendar days from date of publication.
  15. GOVERNING LAW

    1. These Conditions of Use shall be governed by and construed in accordance with relevant Philippine laws. For data privacy matters, please refer to the Data Privacy section in our web site: https://beep.com.ph/. The data privacy provisions therein shall form part of these Conditions of Use.

MY BEEP™ STORY CONTEST MECHANICS

Background

In celebration of ten years since the launch of beep™ in 2015 coinciding with obtaining Full System Acceptance (FSA) for the Rail AFCS Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Project, AF Payments Inc. (AFPI), the issuer of beep™ cards, is launching a contest to encourage beep™ cardholders to share their unique stories on how beep™ has affected their lives.

Contest Mechanics:

    1. Promo period is from 01 August 2025 to 30 November 2025, with the Grand Finals set on 05 December 2025.
    2. Details on coverage, deadline of submission, judging schedule and announcement of winners are as follows: 
    3. The contest is open to the public, provided that participants must: 
      • own and regularly use a beep™ Stored Value card of any type, including standard (anonymous cards), Concessionary Cards, limited edition or collectible cards, company-issued or co-branded cards; 
      • be willing to share their beep™-inspired stores to the general public, including but not limited to posting in AFPI’s website and social media channels; and
      • allow AFPI to use the submitted story or entry for its marketing, promotional and/or other purpose(s) that it may deem appropriate.

    4. For electronic contest registration, customer must fill-up the online registration form in beep™ website: https://www.beep.com.ph/mybeepstory/ and follow the uploading instructions and guidelines indicated therein together with their full name, address, contact number, e-mail address and birth date (for notification and verification purposes). Contestants will receive an acknowledgement e-mail upon successful uploading of their respective entries.

    5. Criteria for Judging is as follows:
      Content Relevance : 50%
      Creative Execution : 50%

      1) Content Relevance – each entry will be evaluated whether it has adequately and appropriately responded to the question, “How has beep™ affected your life?” by narrating or visually depicting an actual experience involving the use of the beep™ card, including but not limited to the use of the beep™ card for commuting and/or other purposes and the tangible and/or intangible benefits derived from such an experience. 

      2) Creative Execution – depending on the nature of the submission, each entry will be evaluated on the judicious use of creative modes of expression, including but not limited to: written text or narrative, visual/graphic design tools, or video footage (raw or otherwise edited for visual aesthetics), and/or other creative flourishes and ultimately the overall impact and appeal of the submitted entry.   

    6. The panel of judges consist of the following AF Payments Inc. Senior executives and Managers:
      Ms. Chona Christine Basilio – Chief Finance Office, AFPI
      Ms. Abigail Rosal – Group Head for Human Resources
      Mr. Eduardo Niala, Jr. – Head of Rail Concession and Special Projects

    7. Any participant can send as many entries as they can for as long as each story has a unique narrative. Contestants can send as many entries or stories as they can for the duration of the contest, provided that each submitted story or entry is unique from the other submissions. Winning entries from previous months can no longer be re-submitted.

    8. The winning entry of the month will be announced on the first week of the succeeding month and will automatically be eligible for the Grand Finals. The winner in the Grand Finals will be selected and announced on 05 December 2025. The selection and announcement of winners will be made in the presence of a DTI representative at AFPI’s headquarters at 4/F MSE Building, Makati City in the afternoon within the first week of the succeeding month (for the monthly winners) and on or by the afternoon of 05 December 2025 (for the Grand Finals winner).

    9. The winning entry for each month will receive a tax-free cash prize of Five Thousand Pesos (PHP 5,000.00) and a limited-edition beep™ card. (Note: Non-cash prizes cannot be converted into their cash equivalent but transferable.)

    10. The winner of the Grand Finals will receive a tax-free cash prize of Ten Thousand Pesos (PHP 10,000.00), a limited-edition beep™ card and a gift bag. (Note: Non-cash prizes cannot be converted into their cash equivalent but transferable.)

    11. Winners will be notified by AFPI via registered mail, e-mail and SMS. Prizes are tax-free, i.e., any applicable taxes will be borne by AFPI.

    12. Prizes should be claimed within 60 days from receipt of registered notice or prize will be forfeited in favor of AFPI with prior approval of DTI.

    13. Prizes can be claimed at AFPI headquarters at 4/F MSE Building, Ayala Avenue, Makati City between 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. When claiming, a valid government-issued ID must be presented by the winner.

    14. If the winner prefers to send a representative to claim his/her prize, a duly signed authorization letter and a copy of the IDs of the winner and representative must be presented to AFPI.

    15. Winners’ names will be posted in beep™ Facebook page and beep™ website.

    16. All employees of AFPI, including their immediate family or relatives up to the second degree of consanguinity or affinity are disqualified from participating in this contest.

    17. Contestants can submit either a Video Material or Story Narrative, Static Artwork, Poster or Publicity Material, conforming to the following guidelines and specifications:

At their discretion and/or preference, contestants can incorporate any photo, audio/video material, logos, graphic elements and/or other material to enhance their submissions provided that such images, photos, etc. do not violate any provisions of the Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines (otherwise known as Republic Act 8293) nor infringe upon any other person or entity’s copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights (“IP Laws”). AFPI shall not be held liable for any such violations and/or infringements of the IP Laws, and the contestant shall solely be liable therefor.

    19. Contestants may use the beep™ logo in the submissions for such purpose only, and such use must be according to the beep™ brand guidelines, as published in the beep™ website: https://www.beep.com.ph/beep-logo-and-guidelines/

    20. By submitting their entries containing personal and other information, contestants agree that such personal information will be processed in compliance with the relevant and applicable provisions of the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (otherwise known as Republic Act 10173). Contestants also consent to the sharing of their personal information (limited to their name and age) to the general public, including posting in AFPI’s website and social media channels for AFPI’s marketing and promotional activities.

    21. Entries / Stories must be in response to the question, “HOW HAS BEEP™ AFFECTED YOUR LIFE?” (PAANO NAAPEKTUHAN NG BEEP™ ANG BUHAY MO?)

    22. Entries can be in English, Filipino, “Taglish”, or any Philippine language or dialect (provided there is an equivalent English, Filipino or Taglish translation of the narrative, publicity material or artwork entries or subtitles for video entries). AFPI reserves the right to edit, amend or alter, in whole or in part, the submitted entries for brevity and conciseness and for promotional and/or other purposes it may deem appropriate.

    23. Entries must be based on true-to-life experience(s) (as attested by the entry sender) and must not be a work of fiction or a product of one’s imagination. However, names of personalities or characters involved may be changed, in the interest of privacy and confidentiality.  By submitting an entry or entries, each contestant warrants that the entry or entries is/are his/her original work and has not been published in any publication within or outside the Philippines. Failure to comply, including the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools to draft an entry, will merit disqualification and/or revocation of any prize given at the sole discretion of AFPI.

STEP 2

Mag-fill up ng Concessionary Card Application Form

Maaaring makakuha ng Application Form sa Passenger Assistance Office (PAO) sa kahit anong LRT-1, LRT-2 or MRT-3 Station.

STEP 3

Ipasa ang nasagutan na form, original at photocopy ng inyong valid ID sa teller

Matapos ma-check ng tellerang mga requirements, magbayad ng P30 para sa ticket fee. Huwag kalimutang kunin ang inyong original ID mula sa teller.

STEP 4

Bumalik sa LRT-1, LRT-2 or MRT-3 Station sa itinakdang araw.

Dala ang claim stub na ibinigay sa inyo, bumalik sa station kung saan ipinasa ang application sa itinakdang petsa para kunin ang Concessionary Card.

STEP 5

Gamitin ang Concessionary Card

Pagkakuha ng Concessionary Card, maaari na itong lagyan ng load (P12 minimum) upang

magamit. Ang Concessionary Card ay may Validity Period na dalawang (2) taon.

Student Discounted beep™ card

Application for student discounted beep™ card is not available as of the moment. Students discounted card will not be applicable for LRT-1, LRT-2 and MRT-3 lines yet because only the transportations under LTFRB are mandated to give fare discounts for students.
