Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Jaime Bautista met with AF Payments Inc. (AFPI) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Jonathan Juan Moreno, to know more about the initiatives of the automatic fare collection system (AFCS) concessionaire for commuting to become more convenient, efficient, ecologically sound and sustainable.
AFPI bared their plans to further strengthen the automatic fare collection technology through an accessible platform, wider reach, and strategic partnerships.
One of the initiatives in the railway sector is the mobilization of capable manpower to educate and train the effective use of an AFCS, by teaming up with the Philippine Railways Institute (PRI).
The PRI, represented by PRI Officer-In-Charge Anneli Lontoc, and AFPI, represented by CEO Moreno, along with Secretary Bautista as the witness, officially inked a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), for the joint technical know-how and user experience training towards the improvement of technology, as well as the skills and knowledge of railway personnel.
